Mental Health

Mental Health includes our emotional, psychological and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others and make choices. Mental Health is important at every stage of our lives, from childhood and adolescence through to adulthood. If you experience mental health problems, your thinking, mood and behavior could be affected. Sometimes a decline in our mental health can impact of how we live our lives. Some people may need support to manage their daily living activities when their mental health is poor.

There are Mental Health Services within the District that support people experiencing difficulties with their mental health such as the NHS First Response Service, Healthy Minds, My Wellbeing College, Guide Line, all support people experiencing a mental health crisis. It is imperative that our staff team are trained to monitor people’s health and mental health and how their condition and environment may contribute to deterioration to their needs, therefore referrals will be made accordingly taking into consideration consent, people’s mental capacity to decide about seeking help and support.
